We cover the Pinterest Audience Insights Report and Pinterest Analytics Reports for 2019. Our Pinterest Analytics Guide is explained for beginners so you can learn how to use the data and reports to your advantage to grow your audience. You need to have a strong understanding of your Pinterest Audience and the best way to do that is to study your Analytics, including demographics, interests, and more.

We first start by covering the new Pinterest Audience Insights report, which is currently in 'Early Access' for Pinterest business pages. It will be replacing the old 'People You Reach' report on Pinterest by giving you much more data about people's interests and demographics who view your pins and engage with your Pins.

Audience insights will show you exactly what your existing customers are interested in, which is based on behavioral statistics on Pinterest. Pinterest is able to track the Pins that people save and are interested in, including the keywords they are typing in. The insights are powered by the Taste Graph and track the consideration of people on Pinterest. Everything that you do on Pinterest is tracked and that can be helpful when you are trying to acquire new customers.

In order to find Audience Insights, click on the Analytics drop-down in the top left corner and choose the Audience Insights report.

You have two options, you can select your own audience and also compare it to Pinterest's total audience. It will show data for the previous 30 days, which is the most helpful for you.

Your total audience is defined as the people who have viewed or engaged with all Pins you've saved (both organic and Promoted) as well as any Pins that have been saved from your claimed website.

Affinities

See the top categories and interests for your audience selection and compare your audience's affinity with those of Pinterest's total audience. You can sort these tables by affinity or audience percentage. When creating a Promoted Pin campaign, you can target any of these interests.

Affinity indicates the strength of your audience's interest in a particular category compared to the average person on Pinterest. A high affinity indicates that this portion of your audience has a strong likelihood of engaging with content related to this interest.

Demographics

You can view a demographic breakdown of your audience selection by age, gender, location and device.
