In Google Ads, you can create YouTube and Google Display Network video advertising campaigns with different YouTube video ad formats to engage customers in different ways on YouTube and across video partner sites. Available video ad formats include: skippable in-stream ads, non-skippable in-stream ads, video discovery ads, Outstream ads and bumper ads.

While video advertising content must be hosted on YouTube, video ads can appear on YouTube and on video partner sites and apps across the Google Display Network, including on tablets and mobile devices.

YouTube Skippable in-stream ads

YouTube Skippable In-Stream Ads are a TrueView YouTube Advertising format. The user watching the video must watch 30 seconds or longer, or interact with the video before the advertiser is charged. You see Skippable In-Stream Ads before, during, and after videos.

YouTube Non-skippable in-stream ads

YouTube Non-Skippable In-Stream ads are 15 seconds or less and users must watch the full video. You are unable to skip this video format.

YouTube Discovery ads

YouTube Skippable In-Stream Ads are a TrueView YouTube Advertising format. YouTube Discovery ads appear alongside videos and in the YouTube search results. Advertisers are charged when someone clicks on one of their videos.

YouTube Bumper ads

YouTube Bumper Ads are a 6-second video advertising format, where users must watch a short ad before the video. They are non-skippable and the video ads are very short, so advertisers must catch their target audiences view very quickly.

YouTube Outstream ads

YouTube Outstream ads are a mobile and tablet only ad format. They will only show on mobile devices and the advertiser is charged when the video is viewed for 2 seconds or longer.
