Dr. Blake Shusterman shares one of the most loved Southern appetizers, deviled eggs, with a kidney-friendly twist.

INGREDIENTS:
6 eggs
2 tablespoons Greek yogurt
2 tablespoons Canola mayonnaise
Dijon mustard
Hot sauce
Salt & pepper
1/2 Red onion (sliced)
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon sugar

Directions:
1. Add the 6 eggs to a pot of water and bring to a boil. Once water is boiling, turn burner off and let the eggs sit for 12 minutes. Then take the eggs out of the water and place in a bowl of ice-cold water. (This step helps the shell to come off easier.)

2. Mix the yogurt, canola mayonnaise, dijon mustard, hot sauce, salt and pepper and red pickled onions (recipe below) together.

3. Add back to the egg whites and enjoy!

Red Pickled Onions Recipe:
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon sugar

1. Mix all ingredients in a bowl, microwave for 2 minutes until boiling. Add sliced red onions and let sit for 15 minutes.
