In this video, Dr. Moore demonstrates the full release of the plantar ligament and spur removal on fluoroscopy - a surgical technique developed to avoid the reattachment of the ligament or heel pain reoccurrence after surgery.

Plantar fasciitis and the infamous heel spur are in reality one in the same. The plantar fascia attaches to the bottom of the heel and over time, the pulling and irritation can create a calcification of the attachment that appears as a spur on x-ray.

Before surgery is decided upon between Dr. Moore and his patients, treatment at the office begins with conservative treatment like shoe gear modification, stretching, physical therapy, injection therapy and custom molded orthotics or temporary arch supports.
