To fry fish with oil in a healthier manner, you can follow these tips:

Choose a Healthy Fish: Opt for fish that are considered healthy and low in mercury. Some examples include salmon, trout, sardines, mackerel, and tilapia. These fish are rich in omega-3 fatty acids and provide various other nutrients.

Use Healthier Oil: Instead of using oils high in saturated or trans fats, choose healthier options such as olive oil, avocado oil, or coconut oil. These oils contain beneficial monounsaturated or polyunsaturated fats.

Control the Temperature: Maintain a consistent oil temperature during frying. A temperature between 350°F to 375°F (175°C to 190°C) is recommended. This helps prevent excessive oil absorption by the fish, resulting in a lighter and less greasy final product.

Opt for Lighter Coatings: Consider using lighter coatings or batters to minimize the oil absorbed during frying. Instead of heavy breading, use a thin layer of flour or breadcrumbs. Alternatively, try a panko breadcrumb coating for added crunch without excessive oil absorption.

Properly Drain Excess Oil: After frying, place the cooked fish on a wire rack or paper towels to allow excess oil to drain away. This step helps remove excess fat from the fish, making it lighter and healthier.

Portion Control: Be mindful of portion sizes. Moderation is key, as frying adds calories to the fish due to the oil absorption. Enjoy a reasonable portion alongside a balanced meal with vegetables and whole grains.

Remember that frying is just one cooking method, and there are several other ways to prepare fish that are even healthier, such as grilling, baking, or steaming. These methods require less oil and retain more of the fish's natural nutrients.
