To perform calf raises on a step:
1. Stand on a step or something sturdy while holding on for balance. Place the balls of your feet on the edge of the step. Try to keep your body in an upright position. Rise up on the balls of your feet as high as you can.
2. Then slowly come back down, dropping your heels below the step as far as you comfortably can without slipping off.
