Smell—Olfactory Epithelium/mucus of the nasal cavity has enzymes that breakdown aromatic aldehydes and stimulates the chemo receptors and stimulate the olfactory neurons. This travels through the cribriform plate into the olfactory bulb to olfactory tract to olfactory cortex which comprises of multiple areas of the cortex.
