In this video, I’m going to show you how to prevent lower back pain that’s caused by sitting for long periods of time. Nowadays, people spend an enormous amount of time sitting—sitting on the computer, driving in the car, and even sitting on the couch. This can cause low back pain, sciatica, and a loss of lower back curvature.

Try putting a foam roller on the back lower part of your chair. This will put pressure on the sacrum, the foundation of the entire spine. The pressure will naturally tilt your pelvis forward and encourage the curve to return in your lower back.

This technique forces you to sit erect or slightly forward, improving your posture. The pressure along with your improved posture will help relieve lower back pain, especially from sitting for extended periods of time. You can also put the foam roller behind your lower back, although placing it behind your sacrum works best.
