In this video, I’m going to show you a simple acupressure technique that can speed up recovery post-surgery. Surgery is a trauma for the body, specifically the adrenal glands.

Because the nerves in your body are on a circuit, you can find relief from pain by working on the opposite side of the body of your surgery.

If you had surgery on your right side, you’ll want to try this acupressure technique on the exact mirror image spot on the opposite side of the body. This technique increases circulation, speeds up the time of recovery, provides pain relief, and decreases inflammation.

You may experience some pain and tenderness when you massage the opposite spot on the other side of the body. This will signify that you are in the correct spot! Massage the area for a minute or so. You don’t have to apply too much pressure.

If surgery was performed somewhere in the center of the body like the lower back for example, focus on the opposite side of the body in the exact same spot. In this case, you would focus on the same area on the front of the body. If your surgery was on the 5th lumbar vertebrae, you’ll want to apply pressure on the same spot on the front, which is just below the belly button.
