Many of you have asked, “is a low carb diet safe for diabetes?” The answer is yes. In fact, the American Diabetes Association (ADA) now acknowledges that the low-carb diet is beneficial for type 2 diabetes.

“Reducing overall carbohydrate intake for individuals with diabetes has demonstrated the most evidence for improving glycemia and may be applied in a variety of eating patterns that meet individual needs and preferences.”

The only problem is that they didn’t define what a good low-carb diet is. The ADA recommends somewhere around 40% carbohydrates, which is still far too high (it should be around 5%). As you probably know by now, I recommend a ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting to keep blood sugars under control.

If you’ve been waiting for the ADA to approve keto before you started, now is the time to begin. Take a look at some of the links at the top of the description to get started.
