Take Dr. Berg's Advanced Evaluation Quiz: http://bit.ly/EvalQuiz

In this video, Dr. Berg talks about insulin and brings up a question about why doctors give insulin to diabetics who are type 2 when they have too much insulin in the first place? Well, this will definitely help in the short run as a quick fix, but this merely continues the problem and worsens it over time. It's like giving a child candy when they want candy - they will be happy, but then they want more and more.

What the doctors are doing is using insulin to lower blood sugars. However, the issue is a lack of attention to why it's high in the first place. The more insulin that is given, the more the person's cells will become resistant. This is called insulin resistance. This will then cause the pancreas to make more insulin (up to 5-7x more). Yet insulin fails to work because the cells are resisting it. What they should is is correct the diet, esp the grains. Grains and other carbs turn into sugar fast and will keep the insulin higher. If we avoid grains, sugars, and even frequent eating, insulin will not have to work so hard and the need for insulin will come down.
