In this video, we’re going to talk about the many different pH levels in the body. Your body has many different fluids, each with a different pH. This means that your entire body is not one pH, so your body shouldn’t be alkaline or acidic.

The stomach is very acidic and should not have an alkaline pH level. The large intestine and urine are also acidic. Different pH levels activate different enzymes in the body.

The acidic pH of stomach acid activates pepsin, a very powerful enzyme that breaks down proteins. The large intestine is acidic to help prevent the overgrowth of unfriendly microbes. Lactic acid is also produced for this reason. If the acidic areas of the body become alkaline, there are several consequences.

A pH level below 7 is acidic and above 7 is considered alkaline. It’s healthy for your blood to have an alkaline pH between 7.35 and 7.45.

To maintain healthy blood ph levels and normal pH levels throughout the body, you don’t need to focus on eating alkaline foods. You just need to eat healthy! Although vegetables have an alkaline pH, you still need things like essential fatty acids and amino acids for a healthy, balanced diet.

Focusing on alkalizing the body with alkaline water or baking soda will actually dilute acidic areas of the body like the stomach. This will inhibit important enzymes for digestion and reduce protection against pathogens and unfriendly microbes.
