In this video, we’re going to talk about RDAs. RDA stands for recommended dietary allowance and represents the minimum requirement of a nutrient to prevent deficiency diseases. Oftentimes, you might have a higher nutritional requirement for certain vitamins and minerals due to individualized factors.
Here are a few factors that increase your nutrient requirements:
• Stress
• Infection
• Injury
• Age
• Poor digestion
If you want to meet or surpass your nutrient requirements, try adding the following nutrient-dense foods to your diet:
• Cruciferous vegetables
• Wild-caught fish
• Pasture-raised eggs
• Grass-fed animal products/meats
• Sprouts
• Organ meats
• Seafood/shellfish
The following foods are not bad for you, but they are not very nutrient-dense:
• Cucumbers
• Eggplant
• Squash
• Iceberg lettuce
• Onion
Follow a Healthy Keto diet, focus on nutrient-dense foods, and consume 7 to 10 cups of vegetables per day, and you will meet your nutrient requirements for potassium and several other vitamins and minerals.
