In this video, we’re going to talk about the best types of birth control. Many women want a safe form of birth control that doesn’t come with unwanted side effects. Unfortunately, birth control pills come with a lot of hormonal side effects.

The condom is safe, 98% effective, and comes with very few side effects. The IUD, also known as an intrauterine device, is 99% effective. It comes in two different versions: hormonal and non-hormonal.

The non-hormonal IUD, or the copper IUD, is a small T-shaped device that is inserted into the uterus. The copper ions act as a spermicide and inhibit the sperm’s ability to reach the egg.

Although the copper IUD is non-hormonal, it still comes with some side effects. The copper IUD can cause pelvic inflammatory disease(PID), and can also increase the severity of heavy periods and cramping.

To reduce the effect that the copper IUD has on your period, try taking calcium orotate. You can take calcium orotate on a regular basis, and increase your intake right before and during your period.
