In this video, we’re going to talk about homocysteine. Homocysteine is a protein that gets converted into methionine in the body. Certain B vitamins are needed for this conversion to take place.

If there are not enough of these B vitamins, homocysteine can build up in the system and cause problems. Some possible side effects of having excess homocysteine in the body are:
● Increased risk of heart attack
● Increased risk of stroke
● Plaque build-up in arteries
● Blood clots

High homocysteine levels are caused by deficiencies in vitamin B6 and folate. To avoid a B6 or folate deficiency, consume lots of vegetables! Cruciferous vegetables like kale, broccoli, and cauliflower can be especially beneficial.

If you're on Healthy Keto, you won’t have to worry. Healthy Keto is the best diet to prevent the build up of homocysteine!
