In this video, we’re going to talk about sugar cravings and carb cravings on keto. Sometimes, you’re craving carbs on keto because your carb intake is too high.
To stop carb cravings, keep your carbohydrate intake below 20 grams. Avoid fruit, beans, breads, pastas, and other foods high in carbs. Craving sugar or carbs on keto means you are not fully in ketosis yet—you’re still in the transition phase.
In order to stop sugar cravings and carb cravings, you have to stop spiking insulin. You must do intermittent fasting along with keto to stop spiking insulin. This will stop you from craving carbs on keto. Adding fat to your meal can help you go longer between meals and can also help prevent carb cravings.
The potassium and magnesium in vegetables are key to maintaining healthy insulin levels. 7 to 10 cups of vegetables will leave you feeling full and satisfied, and will help reduce sugar cravings and carb cravings.
If you keep your carbs low, do intermittent fasting, and increase your vegetable intake, your sugar cravings and carb cravings should go away within 2 to 3 days. Once your cravings have stopped, then you’ll know that you’re in true ketosis.
