In this video, we’re going to talk about some of the causes of gas and bloating on a ketogenic diet. Introducing new vegetables that you are not used to can cause gas on keto. Sometimes, cruciferous vegetables are the culprit. Try changing the vegetables that you're consuming, steam them, or choose fermented options.
Keto-friendly sugar alcohols like erythritol and xylitol can cause digestive issues on keto. Inulin fiber found in some keto-friendly treats can cause bloating and gas. Low-carb products like almond flour can also cause digestive troubles if you’re not used to consuming them.
If your stomach acid is not strong enough, you may have trouble digesting protein. Indigestion, acid reflux, gas, and bloating are all signs of low stomach acid. Apple cider vinegar and betaine hydrochloride can help.
