Today I want to cover the different negatives of the keto diet that keto naysayers tend to point out and why I believe the keto diet is the best diet.

Things keto naysayers say:

1. Cutting out carbs is usually an invitation to overeat them at another point.

Counterpoint:
The point of the keto diet is to get rid of cravings and hunger so that you won’t eat carbs.

2. You can lose weight on keto because the body can use fat as fuel. You also can’t eat many of your favorite foods. The fat also keeps you full, so you can skip snacks. Nutritionists don’t believe this is the way to go because it’s extreme and may not be healthy.

Counterpoint:
If you’re not losing weight, it’s time to change something and make healthy choices. If cutting out junk food and carbs is considered extreme, then okay. It’s not healthy how much sugar people eat. We’re cutting out sugar and carbs and adding more vegetables into the diet.

3. It’s not sustainable or good for you, and you could gain weight again fast.

Counterpoint:
You won’t gain weight if you consume one cracker. But, you’re cravings or desires for foods like crackers will be completely gone anyway.

4. The ketogenic diet is very restrictive, and most people can’t stick to it.

Counterpoint:
It is a diet people can’t stick to, especially if they see better results, are not hungry, and have energy from intermittent fasting. People can’t stick to a diet when they try to lose weight while having cravings.

5. People with heart disease and diabetes should especially stay away from the keto diet.

Counterpoint:
If you have heart disease or diabetes, you need to lower the amount of glucose your body is running on by reducing your refined carbs and sugars. I believe the keto diet is one of the best things for your heart and brain.

6. If you eat well-balanced meals with carbohydrates that are high in fiber, you’ll feel good.

Counterpoint:
Maybe, but you won’t lose weight.

The ketogenic diet is the easiest diet to do after you’re adapted (after a few weeks). The ketogenic diet may also help improve a wide range of health conditions.
