Today I want to cover the seven signs that you may have a vitamin K1 deficiency. Vitamin K1 is a very important vitamin because it helps to keep you from bleeding to death. A recent study found that around 31 % of adults may have a vitamin K1 deficiency.
Vitamin K1 has everything to do with blood clotting. You can get Vitamin K1 primarily from dark green vegetables. But, your microbes also make vitamin K1.
7 signs of a vitamin K1 deficiency:
1. Bruising easily and bruising that takes too long to heal
2. Wounds that don’t clot and heal
3. Nose bleeds for no reason
4. Heavier menstrual bleeding
5. Blood in the urine or stool
6. Small blood clots under the nails
7. Spider veins
If you consume more greens and the problem persists, it could mean that you have a GI malabsorption problem. Increasing the amounts you consume by eating more vegetables or taking a supplement may help.
It could also be that you don’t have a gallbladder, insufficient bile, or liver damage. In this situation, you could try taking purified bile salts when you consume dark leafy greens. Adding olive oil to your salad may also help with absorption.
If you had antibiotics or something happened that destroyed your friendly bacteria, this could cause you to become deficient in vitamin K1.
