Let’s talk about how to get the best results if you're a keto beginner.
When you start keto, your body goes through a very short transition as it changes its fuel source. This lasts roughly two to five days, and while it’s not terrible, you need to prepare for it.
For example, if you’re going through a stressful time, you may need to focus on lowering your stress before you start the keto diet. This will allow you to put your energy into this new lifestyle change. However, some people start keto while going through major stress, and they find the diet helps them.
The best ways to prepare for keto, so you can adapt to keto easier:
• Take MCT oil
• Get rid of any junk food in your house
• Don’t go to restaurants that lack healthy options
• Meal plan and meal prep
• Have keto-friendly treats on hand
You may experience symptoms of keto-adaptation like hunger, cravings, or dizziness. But, if you stick to the keto plan, your body will start burning more fat, and you’ll notice these symptoms disappear.
What makes you go into ketosis is not consuming more fat. It’s the absence of carbs and sugar. But consuming fat will make keto and fasting easier. Once you’re adapted, you can start consuming less fat. The lower you bring your carbs and sugar, the faster you’ll get into ketosis.
How to prevent keto flu and other symptoms once you've started the diet:
• Consume bulletproof coffee
• Add more fat to the end of your meal
• Consume sea salt and electrolytes
• Take B vitamins (unfortified nutritional yeast)
