What is vaginal odor?
vaginal odor is that unpleasant smell coming from a woman’s vagina. It may vary from person to person. Im some women, it smells like copper, while in others, it may smell like some chemicals. The odor can also change depending on your hormonal changes and dietary alterations.

There are a number of causes for vaginal odor. They are:

Tips to deal with Vaginal odor
1. Bathe regularly
Vaginal odor is not always due to infections or something serious going on in there. It could just be a sign for you to take a shower. Sweat and dirt tend to accumulate around your vagina over the time you do not take a shower, giving unpleasant odor. So don’t overthink it and just go take the shower you need the most. Simple!

2. Change your undergarment when needful
Changing your garment less frequently can result in moisture build-up that is a predisposing cause of numerous yeast infections. It causes skin irritation and unpleasant vaginal odor.
Changing your panty once in every 12 hours, if you lead an active life is ideal. But changing it at least once every 24 hours in necessary to avoid any risks of infections. So stop being lazy!

3. Bid farewell to silk and satin panties
These materials tend to trap sweat and wetness in the clothing that gives rise to many fungal, yeast or bacterial infections. These infections become the cause of vaginal odor. Cotton panties on the other hand are a lot more comfortable and vaginal health friendly. They soak the sweat and wetness well and prevents infections, keeping your vagina odor-free.

4. Do not let that shower water and soap inside your vagina
You may not know it but, our vagina has a good range of fauna inside itself. These microorganisms are the real heroes behind vagina’s name as “self-cleaning organ”. Its design is a flawless engineering in itself to keep it clean and healthy.
So when you are washing “inside” of your vagina with water or your favorite fragrance soap, you are committing murder of those friendly microorganisms that keep your vaginal pH at its optimum levels. Disrupting the pH levels get you various kind of vaginal infections and create an impact on your natural vaginal odor.

5. Keep your diet and hydration levels under check
Water and food are considered mighty amongst the pillars of life. Make sure you drink 2-3 L water every single day as it supports healthy sweating. Eating a balance diet is equally important if not more. Make sure you put in essential amount of veggies, fruits (citrus fruits especially), healthy fats, grains and you know! Healthy stuff. Avoid those oily, spicy fast foods. However, play special attention to strong-smelling foods like onions, sugar and foods high in yeast and sugar.
