Placenta Previa is an obstetrical condition involving the implantation of the placenta near or over the internal cervical opening (internal cervical os). This is an uncommon condition that can lead to particular clinical signs, that often manifests in the 2nd or 3rd trimester of pregnancy. There are a list of risk factors that can increase the likelihood of having this condition during pregnancy, including increasing maternal age, smoking, and prior obstetrical surgeries.
