Umbilical Hernia are hernia (bulges) that occur in the abdominal wall at or near the umbilicus (belly button). Umbilical hernia can be cause by increased intra-abdominal pressure, which itself can be caused by a variety of pathologies. Having herniation of bowel contents can lead to a variety of signs and symptoms, which we will discuss in this lesson. We will also discuss how umbilical hernia are diagnosed and treated.
