A power plant produces electric power of 600kW at 4000V, to be transported to consumers 20km away. It can be transported directly via cable or by using step-up and step-down transformers at both ends. (All currents and voltages are in rms values.)
Question: If the step-up, step-down method with a cable or resistance 0.4ohm/km is used, the power dissipation (in %) during transmission is (when a 10:1 step-up transformer is used)?
