The Fundamental Counting Rule (Equation 2) is if there are k trials in an experiment. Trial 1 has n1 outcomes. Trial 2 has n2 outcomes. Trial 3 has n3 outcomes. Trial k has nk outcomes. When all the trials are conducted, the number of outcomes=(n1)(n2)(n3)…(nk).
