The Incident Response in the cloud is a four-step process that describes the many phases of protecting sensitive data and blocking security breach activities. The phases include Preparation, Detection and Analysis, Containment, Eradication & Recovery, and Post-mortem. Here we will talk about phase three of IR in the cloud, which is Containment, Eradication, & Recovery. This phase's goal is to minimize damage and resume normal activities as quickly as possible. The Containment part entails disabling attack vectors, weighing the risk, and preservation of the system. The Eradication & Recovery part entails software-defined advantage, auto-scaling, and API, and postpone eradication with isolation.
