What is Geological Sequestration?

Geological Sequestration is a process whereby the captured carbon is injected in a subsurface reservoir for perpetuity.
Although this is not very uncommon for the Engineers working for the oil and gas industry it has certain challenges as injection of CO2 purely for permanent storage brings new set of criteria’s.

Industry leaders are looking for various solutions to utilize the captured CO2 in a practical—and -- profitable way.
A number of industrial applications of the captured CO2 are being tested for viability. However, all these applications would need a technological breakthrough to implement them in a profitable way.
One of the technologies available and has the potential to reduce the CO2 emissions significantly is to utilize the captured carbon for the Enhanced Oil Recovery.
