We use a numerical approach to define laminar, transient and turbulent flows… This is important for later calculations of friction factors.

Laminar Flow Re less than 2000
Transient Flow 2000 less than Re less than 10000
Turbulent Flow 10000 less than Re less than infinite
Make sure to know what type of flow you are using…
