A basic approach for velocities inside pipes. Liquids go slower since they are denser and more viscous. Gases can achieve higher velocities with similar friction loss.
Recommended pipe velocity ranges:
Viscous Liquids: 0-1 m/s
Non-Viscous Liquids: 1-5 m/s
Gases: 10-30 m/s
