Drawing is much easier when you know what you are doing. I'll show you simple ways to draw building when looking from above. In this drawing tutorial I explain how to draw buildings from above, so it appears we are looking down on the buildings. Using two point perspective we draw the buildings as though looking from a grass bank on a hill. How to draw and sketch the trees, the fence and hedges are all explained. Also important is the use of line and the direction of lines which help to define the angles of a surface. Tonal drawing is explained particularly in creating distance and depth in the drawing. Once the direction of the sun is assessed the shadows on the buildings and trees can be drawn. Finally, I explain how to create depth, distance and scale in the drawing by reducing the tone and the size of trees etc.
