Spotify has created not only a fantastic music streaming service but they have also carved out for themselves a pretty distinct style of design in their album and playlist covers.

Popularized by their "Duotone Effect" Spotify has done a great job at standing out and creating a consistent style across the board.
Whether you are using a different program than Affinity Photo (perhaps something like photoshop) it doesn't matter because the methods are the same to create Spotify album art.
