In this video, we look into two important concepts of AWS Redshift Vacuum & Deep Copy.
In AWS Redshift, vacuum is a process that reclaims space and reorders the data in tables to improve query performance and reduce storage costs. When data is updated or deleted in Redshift, it can result in unutilized space and fragmented data within the tables. Vacuuming is the process of removing this unused space and reorganizing the data, thereby optimizing the storage and improving query performance.
In AWS Redshift, deep copy refers to the process of creating a new, independent copy of a table. This operation is typically performed to reclaim disk space and improve query performance for heavily updated tables.
